Background: During an intense-design class at the University of Alabama, we were assigned to choose a project from a group of phrases. I chose “a pen whose light can detect drugs” and created the company idea of “In the CLEAR.” This company is focused on providing a method for which its clients can test their alcoholic drinks to determine if there’s any illicit drugs in them. The assignment was to take the phrase and completely wrap our heads around it and create a company name and all design aspects that comes with the task. I felt this project challenged me to think creatively and to develop my design skills further.
